What a great Easter at Washington Cathedral! I pictured all of us leaving with enthusiasm as if from a Star Wars movie. In fact, I hear the Star Wars music as we go out to change the world.
The first sermon I ever preached at Washington Cathedral almost 36 years ago was entitled “The Adventure Begins”. Now for the second time in 36 years I am using the same title. We had the biggest on-line worship that we have ever had. We reached out to 7,000 plus viewers with 1,400 that watched the program all the way through. We are truly in the age of the New Great Caring Network. After next week we begin the WAC Live Channel and that is going to be exciting. Let’s focus, in the next couple of weeks, on dropping off food to neighbors who are out of work or donating to local food banks to honor Jesus Christ. This week’s worship will be exciting. Host a Watch Party or share to your Facebook page so that we can use this opportunity to renew the base of Washington Cathedral. And let’s pray for those battling Covid-19. I know so many that are being touched by this virus. Thank you so much for being a friend in this exciting time after Easter.
